About the project:

This is the first album by DUET_ , a music project made up of myself, and Mary Hamer.

I first met Mary through an online art group and was struck by her raw vulnerability. She was willing to go to those uncomfortable places and explore them artistically.

When I heard her sing, I knew I had to work with her.

My musical background is rooted in classical training, jazz, and folk rock. Mary has a classical background as well, but supplemented by goth and metal. Our approach to this album was to write everything together and let whatever influences come out play around.

Some pieces ended up pretty straight forward. Others a little more esoteric. All in all, I think we created something that is more than either one of us.
