My Role:
This film was scored in conjunction with Mary Hamer. Being a horror film, it was all about setting the mood and we wanted to sonically lead the viewer through Lucy’s experience. To do this we start with establishing Lucy’s theme. As the film moves along and her world gets more twisted and surreal, so does the music. She can’t trust her senses anymore. We mangle dialog lines from earlier in the film into distorted versions of themselves and hide them in the soundscape. At the end of the film, we hear Lucy’s theme again, only backwards and twisted.
